Rules of Conduct

PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT AND COMMITMENT

All players will follow the guidelines set forth for the team and the Softball U PA Program.

  • All players are committed to the Softball U PA Travel Team for the duration of the team’s season. You are not allowed to be on another team’s roster unless you have obtained approval from the General Manager of Softball U PA.
  • All players will refrain from unsportsmanlike gestures, talk, language, or profanity. Taunting players from the opposing team is prohibited.
  • All players will show respect towards the umpires and their decisions. All decisions made by the umpires are to be accepted as final.
  • All players will respect the game and play it the right way.
  • All players will not throw their bat, helmet, glove or any object on or off the playing field at any time.
  • All players will accept the coaches’ decision regarding playing positions and the amount of playing time.
  • All players will keep jerseys tucked in at all times.

Softball U PA Travel Program reserves the right to release any player from the team for poor sportsmanship by the player and/or the player’s family during games or for other reasons to include but are not limited to lack of cooperation, poor attitude, lack of commitment, effort or attendance.

Parent CODE OF CONDUCT AND COMMITMENT

All parents will follow the guidelines set forth for the team and the Softball U PA Program.

  • All parents will get their child to practice and games on time.
  • All parents will help their child work toward skill improvement and good sportsmanship in every game.
  • All parents will only provide positive feedback and reinforcement for their child.
  • All parents will speak positively to all  other teams, coaches, and  programs.
  • All parents will accept the umpire’s decision as final.
  • All parents will accept the coaches’ decision regarding playing positions and the amount of playing time.
  • All parents will contact a SUPA Administrator about playing time but never a coach.
  • All parents will refrain from giving the players instructions during the game.
  • All parents will refrain from entering the dugout or other team specific areas.

Softball U PA Travel Program reserves the right to release any player from the team for poor sportsmanship by the player and/or the player’s family during games or for other reasons to include but are not limited to lack of cooperation, poor attitude, lack of commitment, effort or attendance.

Coach CODE OF CONDUCT AND COMMITMENT

All coaches will follow the guidelines set forth for the team and the Softball U PA Program

  • All coaches will maintain disciplinary control of their players at all times.
  • All coaches will treat all players and parents with respect.
  • All coaches will conduct themselves in a respectful manner when addressing opposing players, coaches, umpires, and spectators.
  • All coaches will maintain control of the spectators without denying the spectators their rights to sportsmanlike conduct such as cheering, shouted comments, etc.
  • All coaches will make certain that their players observe all the rules of good sportsmanship at all times avoiding bickering with umpires, unsportsmanlike “riding” of opponents, and any unnecessary rough play that is likely to cause injury.

Softball U PA  reserves the right to release any coach from the team for poor sportsmanship by the coach during games or for other reasons to include but are not limited to poor sportsmanship, lack of reliability/attendance at practices and/or games, or undermining the Softball U PA program.
